WTF moment of the week.
Some ex from my past just came to the lobby at my work, begged me to get on break time and told me he'd "been thinking about me" and blah blah blah. WE BROKE UP IN MAY 2012. I haven't contacted him since.
It was all super "High Fidelity" but NO JOHN CUSACK was to be found. Just an asshole ex.
Basically he asked for my forgiveness and if we could be friends. I didn't say i forgave him, but i did say not to worry about it, that i got over it - oh i don't know -
LAST YEARRRRRRR!!!!
And of course i told him i could never be friends w/ him.
People are so fucking weird. He's the last person i thought would be waiting for me.
And however weird this whole scenario was, it does make me feel smug that something compelled him to see me. He obviously felt guilty or couldn't get over the way he hurt me in the past and was selfishly seeking some sort of forgiveness.
YOU GUYS, PEOPLE ARE WEIRD.
Ease up.
I went out for Happy Hour with an old friend last night.
We caught up and i told her about all the questions I'd been trying to answer lately. She listened and then she reminded me not to be so hard on myself. She knows me too well.
I've always been an over achiever and so hard on myself. I need to ease up on myself. I don't think it necessarily helps me become a better person. It really just stresses me out more and makes me compare myself to others and that comparing game makes me depressed.
I'm making a conscious decision to stop doing that so much.
Another realization I've come to is you can't always get what you want when you want it. Sometimes timing is on it's own schedule, no matter how you try you can't control it.
Plus honestly, losing control is fun sometimes! ;)

Listen to Anthony Bourdain
If I’m an advocate for anything, it’s to move. As far as you can, as much as you can. Across the ocean, or simply across the river. The extent to which you can walk in someone else’s shoes or at least eat their food, it’s a plus for everybody. Open your mind, get up off the couch, move.

there is no plan
I've recently learned there are no such things as plans. Just outlines of tasks we tell ourselves to help us sleep at night.
i have some options:
no one knows.
the second thing i've recently learned is there are no right decisions. or as Bob Ross says:

I'm grateful for having options. I could be a women living in a different country being forced to stay at home, not go to school, not be able to drive and pump out babies. AND THAT WOULD REALLY SUCK.
i have some options:
- technical good paying job in city i live in
- job of my actual interest, cushy benefits, different city
- job on other side of the world
no one knows.
